Speaker A: Honestly, keeping my place clean isn’t so difficult for me. This is mainly because I have an excellent habit of putting my things away every time I’m finished with them. Of course, I mop the floor twice a week and do some other stuff. But actually, it takes me very little time. As long as you plan everything, and stick to your plan, and do everything at once, you don’t have to fight with your clutter. In the long run, this method saves me a lot of time and effort.

Speaker B: Housecleaning used to be a real torture for me, but it has recently changed dramatically. The thing that has done that to my life is the self-help book about the Japanese art of housecleaning. According to its author Marie Kondo, all you have to do is sort out your stuff once, and then stop buying useless things in the shops. She designates a place for every item in the house. With her method, my place looks almost empty, but I feel free and relieved.

Speaker C: If you ask me, I think housecleaning makes no sense. My mother and I spend a lot of valuable time on it, and I wish we would do something else instead. I don’t see the point of housecleaning, mainly because I have two younger brothers who make a horrible mess as soon as they see the place clean. I understand that they are just kids and that they don’t understand how difficult housecleaning can be for my mom and me, but it still drives me mad…really.

Speaker D: Some of my friends won’t let their friends inside the house if it isn’t, as they say, “clean enough.” I think it’s strange. If you’re okay living like that, what’s the problem with inviting guests? If you’re ashamed of the mess at home, why don’t you do anything to get rid of it? As for me, housecleaning is just a weekly routine for me. I don’t give it too much of my time, and I try to keep my house clean. But I’m okay if someone drops in, and it’s a mess.

Speaker E: I like to read psychological magazines, and once I bumped into an article devoted to housecleaning. It says people who are crazy about housecleaning in fact want to keep everything under control. And making your house clean is just a perfect way to do it. If you can fight the dust in your house, you can also cope with other problems that you have. I don’t know if it’s true, or not, but there might be a grain of truth in this concept after all.

Speaker F: I love housecleaning for many reasons. Firstly, it’s an excellent way for me to relax and unwind after a stressful day at school. I guess you know that the process of housecleaning also involves some physical exercise, and it’s excellent for you, especially if you don’t have enough time, money, or will power to join the gym. You can get some endorphins and become fit at the same time, plus you do something nice for the people you love.
